Vitamin D3 Test

Vitamin D determination

Vitamin D or Vitamin D3 is an important factor in the development of periodontitis and peri-implantitis.

For stable and long-lasting dental and implant health, it is recommended that patient’s have a constant vitamin D3 level of approximately 70 ng/ml. The vitamin D level can be determined by a test in the dental office within 15 minutes. This is done by measuring a drop of blood from the fingertip, similar to a blood glucose test.

In our dental practice, we regularly measure the vitamin D3 levels of patients with ceramic implants as well as before surgery. A combination of sunshine and dietary supplementation of vitamin D3 and vitamin K2 is recommended.
