Natural Pain Relief

Natural pain reliever

Many people wish for a natural painkiller because they prefer not to resort to chemical substances for pain relief. We will show you a natural remedy that can effectively alleviate pain.

Pain and Inflammation

Pain is often associated with local inflammation. In this case, inflammatory mediators trigger the pain receptors in the tissue, thereby intensifying the perception of pain. Consequently, a good painkiller should always address inflammation.

Black Seed Oil – Natural Painkiller

Black seed oil demonstrates a pronounced suppression of pain and inflammation, making it a very effective natural painkiller.

An interesting study was conducted at Isfahan University (Iran, 2004). In this study, the anti-inflammatory effect of black seed oil was compared with indomethacin, and the pain-relieving effect was compared with morphine. Indomethacin is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), meaning an anti-inflammatory substance that does not belong to the group of glucocorticoids (cortisone). Black seed oil showed a slightly stronger effect against inflammation-induced edema than indomethacin. Morphine belongs to the opioid group and is one of the most potent approved painkillers. It turns out that morphine has a stronger effect in the first 90 minutes, but black seed oil shows a better pain-relieving effect after 120 minutes. In both comparisons with indomethacin and morphine, approximately 40 times more black seed oil was used. The anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving effects were particularly attributed to the ingredient thymoquinone.

If we extrapolate the amount of black seed oil used in the study to a person weighing 70 kg, it amounts to 28 ml (approximately two tablespoons). Thus, a person experiencing pain could take one to two tablespoons of black seed oil.

In our practice, we take great care to ensure that there is no pain after treatments. However, if you experience pain and wish to avoid painkillers, we recommend temporarily taking one to two tablespoons (15-30 ml) of black seed oil.
